Travel without the spouse

Hello all! I'm considering travel PTA right now. I'm married and my husband has a great permanent job. I'm wondering if there are any travel therapists that travel with out their spouse? If so, any tips or suggestions? I'm not crazy about the thought of being away for 13 weeks, but I really want to put this new degree to work!
There is an over saturation of PTAs in our area. Has anyone used travel as a stepping stone to a permanent position?

I can't share anything insightful as I have no such experiences but I'd love to hear about your journey and things that you find out on the way.
